Seafarer’s Rest
$400.00
Seafarers Rest started as one of my earlier acrylic pieces, back when I was teaching myself how to translate mood into paint before oils became my main focus. I’ve spent years telling stories with linework in comics, and this painting was part of my push to see if I could tell a story with atmosphere instead. No panels, no dialogue, just light, distance, and the quiet feeling of a day winding down at the water.
What I love about harbors is how they hold two worlds at once. Work and rest. Movement and stillness. Boats that have been out all day finally back in, lights beginning to glow, and the surface of the water turning into a mirror. That’s the moment I was chasing here. The silhouettes keep the composition simple, but the color does the heavy lifting, building that calm exhale you feel when you know you are safe at shore.
For collectors, this piece sits in a meaningful place in my journey. It’s an original one of one work from my early acrylic phase, when I was building the foundations that eventually led me into oil and mixed media. That gives it a different kind of value. It isn’t just a stand alone image, it’s a marker from the road that got me here. It is signed, finished, and once it sells, it’s gone.
